Melissa Dicranian believes in The People First.
Small businesses are vital carriers of our economy and where innovation begins. Although our businesses are committed to Pennsylvania, our Commonwealth fails to be economically competitive. We can be better and we should be better. Our future is what we choose to do today, for a prosperous Pennsylvania.
Melissa was born into a family-owned small business, her father's excavation company. Her grandfather founded a multi generational logging business. These businesses inspired the next generation of self starters in her family.
She attended a lab-based engineering college for design that focused on building trades and related engineering and technologies. Melissa built a career with architectural firms in Boston and South Carolina as a architectural designer, owner representative, and architectural consultant. She worked on corporate offices, schools, churches and historic buildings.
Today, Melissa operates a small business at her family farm, where she managed a multi year renovation of a neglected property. This enabled Melissa and her husband to teach their children self reliance, as well as giving them first hand knowledge of budgets, scopes of work, contracts, and seeing the work of skilled trades.
Melissa is currently an outreach partner for several community members, ranging from equine interaction to vocational education. She also serves as the Chairperson for Charlestown Township's Historic Commission and currently planning for the America250 Celebration. Melissa supports agriculture, and is a PA Farm Bureau Legislative Committee member.
